Work with team in providing quality audio-visual setup and operation for live outdoor concerts, special events and other performances. Perform audio visual work for city sponsored activities, such as Special Events, Arts in the Parks, Summer Fete, and private functions.
 *Assist with set up and take down of large and small audio systems including speakers, microphones, cables, mixers, movie equipment, staging, and more.
 
 *Assist with set up, programming, operating, and taking down lighting equipment as needed.
 
 *Work with Audio/Visual Coordinator in preparing and planning for sound and stage needs for events.
 
 *Provide input on repair and upkeep needs of sound and lighting equipment, as well as other equipment.
 
 *Attend all trainings and meetings.
 
 *Assist with transportation and return of equipment to various locations in the city.
 
 *Assist in various capacities to carry out functions of special events as needed and assigned.
 
 *Represent the City of Bloomington in a positive and professional manner at all times.Minimum Qualifications:
* One year experience working with live sound and/or lighting equipment
 
 *Ability to provide physical assistance with stage and equipment set up
 
 *Interest in working with special events and live entertainment.
 
 *Valid MN Driver's License and the ability to transport equipment as needed, to and from locations
 
 *Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends.
 
 Desired Qualifications:
 
 *Five or more years’ experience working with A/V equipment in a live sound environment
 
 *Additional experience working in a variety of settings or special events
 
 *Customer Service experiencePosition to begin in mid to late May, but there is some flexibility in starting date. 15-25 hours per week on average, with more as needed. Position will run through the end of August, with possibility for additional work beyond. Job duties to take place at Bloomington Civic Plaza, the Normandale Lake Bandshell, and other parks and venues throughout Bloomington.
INCENTIVES IN 2024Commitment Bonus- A seasonal employee who works until at least August 9th will receive $100 bonus on their final paycheck.
 
Referral Bonus– A seasonal employee who refers a new seasonal employee will receive $100 bonus on their final paycheck. Referral paperwork required within one week of employees start date and both employees must be employed for the entirety of the scheduled season to be eligible.
